4 Gifts From The Coronavirus Pandemic
--
Two years ago, the cornonavirus changed our lives forever. It also brought blessings.
NO LONGER HAVING TO SEE PEOPLE YOU DISLIKE
Yes, being restricted from human contact was awful. Yet, no longer being obligated to interact with people we loathe was a blessing. Going months without suffering through gut-wrenching small talk with your boss before and after debriefings was simply answered prayers. Over the last couple years, that micro-aggressively racist coworker who loved (loved) your hair was in your presence a total of two times. What about your boyfriend’s buddies who stank your living room with buffalo wings, video games and brown liquor? It’s not like you don’t enjoy a twirl of Mary Jane, but tobacco and weed is just so Method Man circa 1993. Nonetheless, since 2020, your living room has been reclaimed. Thus, it took four years of a xenophobic sexual predator who was at most fault for America’s Covid-19 death toll for the U.S. to admit it powered a fraud.
Fortunately, Republicans decided they needed a change. Although Don was a unicorn initially viewed as a savior of elephants, Team Red knew he wasn’t sustainable. They were smart enough to look in the mirror and see critical injuries to party and country if Don’s reality show received a second season. No other day proved Republicans more right than January 6, 2021.
It’s a shame that it took a global swath of death for us to live better.
